About the story:

Three very respectable couples – the Helliwells, the Parkers, and the Soppitts – were married on the same day, at the same church, and by the same vicar. In the heart of Northern England in 1908, the couples gather to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. However, pandemonium ensues when these pillars of society discover that the vicar who married them was not authorised to do so, and they have been living in sin for 25 years.

When We Are Married is a timeless, classic British comedy masterpiece by JB Priestley (author of An Inspector Calls). It is directed by the Donmar’s Artistic Director, Tim Sheader. Casting includes Siobhan Finneran, Samantha Spiro, Sophie Thompson, and Marc Wootton.
