Ancient India: living traditions is one of the first major exhibitions to explore India’s early devotional art from a multi-faith, contemporary and global perspective. It highlights the inspiration behind now-familiar depictions of deities and enlightened teachers from Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. 

Colourful, multi-sensory and atmospheric, the exhibition was developed in collaboration with a panel of practising Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. These living traditions and their sacred art are integral to the lives of nearly two billion people worldwide — including communities here in the UK.
