LONDONER...
HALE ZERO
Artistic depiction of the city skyline under a gray sky displayed in a stylish space at The Londoner Hotel

Few collectives embody creative versatility quite like Hale Zero. The three brothers compose, perform, design and curate, with collaborations stretching from Nike to Louis Vuitton. Fresh from DJing the UK launch of Tina Knowles’ Matriarch at The Londoner. Now, with the release of their latest single Obsessed, Hale Zero continue to evolve their sound while staying rooted in the city that shaped them. They shared with us why London remains their ultimate muse.

On Beginnings

HALE ZERO

TL: Where is home for you?
HZ: Brixton will always be home. It’s where we grew up, where our earliest memories were made, and it shaped so much of who we are. The energy there is unlike anywhere else in London, even at 4am it feels alive, like the city never stops moving.

Out & About

TL: Do you have a favourite shop in London?
HZ: Rose Morris on Denmark Street. It’s an iconic music store, stacked with guitars, keyboards and drums. Back when we were just starting out, we’d spend hours in there, testing out gear and saving up for whatever we could add to our little home studio. It’s still one of those places that keeps the inspiration flowing.

TL: Favourite gallery or museum?
LW: The National Portrait Gallery. Carl had plans to be a portrait artist before music took over, so he used to spend entire afternoons studying techniques and sketching. The range of styles and eras in there is incredible, it’s a space that constantly sparks creativity.

TL: London is full of green spaces. Do you have a preferred spot?
HZ: Brockwell Park in South London. It’s where we spent so many of our summers roller-skating, biking, and hanging out until the sun went down. It still has that effortless, laid-back vibe that always feels like a return to our roots.

TL: What’s top of your pub recommendations list?
HZ: Not technically a pub, but 8 at The Londoner is one of our favourite spots in the city. The design is stunning, the whisky list is world-class, the sound system is flawless, and the balcony views are great. It’s also one of our favourite places to DJ, which makes it feel like home turf.

Last Thoughts On…The Londoner

TL: Do you have a favourite space in the hotel?
HZ: There’s this tucked-away central courtyard at The Londoner that feels like a hidden gem. It’s calm and quiet, surrounded by this beautiful modern architecture. It’s the kind of space you stumble into and think, “Yeah, I could hang out here all day.”

TL: The Londoner is full of original art and sculptures. Any pieces that stick out for you?
HZ: The chandelier on the central staircase, officially called the Cipher chandelier. We only recently learned its name, but it instantly stood out. It’s bold, recognisable and unlike anything we’ve seen before. Definitely more than just a light fixture.
