The Whisky Room

Here you will taste the Glenfiddich Simultaneous Time 50-Year-Old, while our expert talks you through the past 50 years that led to this point.

"For the master connoisseur, The Whisky Room is a true paradise."

Tasting Notes

50 Year Old Simultaneous Time

Only an infinitesimal number of casks endure 50 years of maturation, their rarity and longevity commanding a luxury prestige. Glenfiddich Simultaneous Time 50-Years-Old is no different. An extraordinary marriage of three American oak refill casks, one started in 1966 and two in 1968.

The result is 18,250 days experienced simultaneously. A long-awaited dram.

Discover

NOSE

Rich orange peel and clementine meet complex notes of Madeira cake and muscovado sugar.

TASTE

A lingering sweetness softens into deep, silky smooth oak tannin and sun-dried vanilla.

FINISH

Oaky, sweet and incredibly long lasting. Fifty years experienced all at once.

Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now the World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

A Scottish Adventure

Home to six working distilleries, Dufftown produces 40.4 million litres of spirit per year, including two of the world’s best-selling single malt whiskies. The Dufftown distilleries take advantage of the River Spey’s clear waters and prime climactic conditions, with low rainfall and long sunshine hours. Speyside whiskies are famous for their frugality with peat and fruity notes: apple, pear, honey, vanilla and spice are characteristic of single malts in the region, including Balvenie and Mortlach.

Glenfiddich Distillery

From the Glenfiddich Simultaneous Time 50-Years-Old you first encountered back in London, to the casks just beginning their life, discover the extraordinary art of whisky-making with the Glenfiddich distillery tour. A unique whisky experience where you will uncover the secrets behind award-winning single malt Scotch whiskies.

Naturally there are plenty of tastings along the way, including the Glenfiddich 12, 15 and 18, as well as the 21-Year-Old Gran Reserva finished in rum casks.

You will be then taken your aptly named accommodation at The Malt Kiln to relax and unwind before a fine Scottish dining experience at Dowan’s Hotel, complemented of course by local whisky. Wake up in Dufftown to a Scottish breakfast and enjoy a little exploration before heading back to Aberdeen Airport.
